HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Unfortunately all medications are associated with potential side effects.

Tavanic (trade name for levofloxacin) is associated with different potential side effects including possible irregular heart beats.

The half life of a drug is the time it takes for the amount of medication in the system to decrease by half.

It can take 3 to 4 half lives for a drug to be mostly eliminated from the body.

The half life of tavanic is approximately 6 to 8 hours. This means that it would take approximately 18 hours to 32 hours for most of it to be eliminated from the body.

This means that any side effects of this medication should resolve within at least 48 hours after the medication has been completed.

If you experience the irregular heart beat after this time period then you may need to see your doctor for evaluation.
This would involve examination and an ECG to take a look at the heart rate and rhythm.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
may need earlier assessment

Detailed Answer:
HI

The history of diabetes and hypertension are very important, it is good that you mentioned them.
They were not mentioned in the previous history but are important because of the possible impact on heart function.

An ECG is the test that would be done even with these illnesses, it would show any abnormality of the heart.

Because of the hypertension, it would actually be best to have the ECG test sooner especially if associated with other symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath.
You should visit your doctor as soon as you are able, preferably within the next 24 hours, if the symptoms continue.
You should discontinue caffeine products as these can worsen palpitations
