default
Posted on Mon, 23 Mar 2015
Question: YES. I have had stabbing/throbbing pains near both arm pits now "off and on" for the last month or so. When this happens I get slightly nauseated but it usually on lasts about a 30 minute period. It is beginning to become worrisome. Can you tell me if this is symptomatic of any serious problems?

Brief Answer:
Looks to be due to Issaac's Syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query albeit short and specific.

To recapitulate: Male / 55 - taking Dilantin for Issaac's Syndrome - now has stabbing or throbbing pains near both armpits off and on for 1 month - lasts for 30 minutes - slight nausea - worrisome - wants to know if this is symptomatic of any serious problem -

With an elucidate history you have provided, the pains near the armpits look to be due to Issaac's Syndrome only.
The armpit is bounded on all sides by the muscles. There is no other known reason to have pains on both sides other than Issaac's Syndrome.

I would advise in such a case the following:
Consult your treating Doctor and discuss about your problem. He /She shall definitely have a local examination and correlation of the two. And treat accordingly.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for any further relevant query or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication. I shall be happy to assist you more.
