Brief Answer:
May need a course of antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,
Your wife seems to have upper respiratory tract infection.
These infections are frequently viral in nature and hence there is no need for antibiotics.
If the symptoms do not abate even after 5 days then you will need a course of appropriate antibiotics preferably of the penicillin group.
Do not take any antibiotics without consulting a doctor. It is unwise and dangerous.
She can take a pain killer like paracetamol or ibuprofen.

She should instill decongestant nose drops like otrivin nose drops , 3 drops in each nostril 3 times a day and follow it up with steam inhalation for 5 days.

Warm salt water gargling 5 times a day and she should drink plenty of fluids.
