Brief Answer:
No evidence to suggest heart problems.

Detailed Answer:

Hello XXXXXX!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that there is nothing abnormal if your heart rate varies in different situations during the day. I can find nothing suggestive of heart problems, facing the above heart rate values.

If you don't have any clinical symptoms or signs at all, you have no reasons to worry about.

Only one suggestion, as I read your prior clinical history, facing with your emphysema, I would recommend to perform an arterial blood gas analysis (if you have persistent tachycardia, that is heart rate >100/min).

Hope to have been helpful to you.

If you have any other uncertainties, feel free to ask me whenever you need.

Greetings! Dr. Iliri.

THANK YOU for your response.. one other thing that is concerning to me is my blood pressure... i take it constantly throughout the day and night and when i sit down and take it ill get a reading of 158/99 then ill wait 1 minute and take it and it will be 146/92 then another minute it will be 136/98 then 129/94 then 125/87..... all within 5 minutes
if i take deep breathes and try to relax for a minute my pressure drops... is this just anxiety or part of the mild emphysema.... i also get a flutter in my throat like a heart beat once in a while maybe every other day once or twice

Brief Answer:
Possible emphysema implications should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:

Hi again XXXXX!

Your blood pressure seems to react in the right way (it drops when you take a rest and try to relax). Regarding those higher BP values, those must be proportional to your physical activity strain. So, you need to look after your BP values, and write down more values for a couple of days. If high BP values out of proportion to your exertion are recorded, then we need to investigate potential triggering factors, including emphysema, etc, and even anxiety.

A pulmonary function test and an arterial blood gas analysis, as I mentioned before, will investigate any impairments on respiratory function and possible acid-base disorders. A possible hypoxemia and hypercapnia may influence on high BP readings, as well.

After excluding important implications of any organic disorders, an investigation for anxiety should be verified.

Best Regards! Dr. iliri

Brief Answer:
Perfect clinical conditions, just keep going on a healthy life-style.

Detailed Answer:

Hello dear XXXXX!

I am glad to confirm, that your heart seems to performed as you were a well physically trained person. I could hardly find any details to raise suspicions on possible cardiac disorders. So, relax! Everything from your clinical scenario seems perfectly normal.

Just keep going on a healthy life-style, avoiding potential coronary risk factors (especially smoking cigarettes).

Regarding your pulmonary function test result and O2sat values, everything is OK!
You need to follow the pulmonologist advices, and a periodic medical check up schedule.

I apologize for my delay ( an inconvenient line interruption).

Wish you a good health! Dr. Iliri
