Question: 84 y/o male with a new problem of "feeling that something is stuck in chest" when not chewing food properly-when combined with a beverage that is too cold- has resulted in falls and blacking out several times- no swelling of limbs no Hx of heart troubles-does take BP meds though

I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms may be related to severe aortic stenosis that is manifested with chest discomfort (feeling that something is stuck in chest) and fainting (black outs).

This is a very common disease at your age. If you were my patient I would recommend to go immediately to ER to do the following examinations:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO (this will confirm aortic stenosis)
- Stress test (to exclude coronary blockage)
this examinations will help to find out what is causing your symptoms.
