What Causes Feeling Fullness In Vaginal Area And Stomach Cramps?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Feb 2015
Question: Hi,

I was experiencing UTI symptoms in early October and visited an urgent care facility that prescribed me with antibiotics (see previous question). It took a few different antibiotics before it seemed to be treated, but since then I have been feeling a fullness in my vaginal area and cramping (menstral type). I am going to set an appointment with my Obgyn, but am very scared of the possibility of ovarian cancer. Any ideas of what else this could possibly be?

Brief Answer:
Cancer is very low on the list!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these disturbing thoughts and all the inconveniences this has caused you. I have reviewed your symptoms fully. While you may really not be feeling well, nothing points to a cancer here.. Your symptoms, age, etc really make this not a possibility. This would most likely be related with hormonal changes and the changes that follow in the ovaries as eggs grow, mature and rupture and not cancer. Fullness in vaginal could even be suggestive f constipation, fibroids, polyps, infection, etc. There is no need to get worried. I am sure your OBGYN would be able to confirm this when you get there.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you for your response. Just a quick additional question. Could these symptoms possibly be caused by yeast after the antibiotics since they all seemed to occur after I took them all.

Brief Answer:
No...Not caused by Yeast!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yeast causes discharge and itches and not sensation of fullness. In any ways, with examination and testing from your OBGYN we would be able to pinpoint the cause and address accordingly. What remains for sure is that this is very unlikely to be caused by cancer.

Keep me updated and ready to address any further concerns tat you may have. I wish you well.
