What Causes Extreme Itching In Armpits, Around Upper Thighs And Waist?
Question: I became having extreme ithing under my arms, around my upper thighs and waist. No rash. However immediatly after I scratched these areas I developed large white welts surrounded by redness. The more I scratched the more wets appeared. No tongue involment but throated became swollen. After taking Benadyl the itching stopped and the large wells disseminated into smaller patches of red rash.

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
You seem to have developed urticaria which is basically a type of severe allergic reaction of the skin .
Such a skin allergy can develop after intake of any medicines or intake of done outside food to which our body is allergic or due to some body infections like cold cough ,urine or abdominal infections .
You might need to take a regular course of oral antihistamines for three to five days .
In case ,at any time there is swelling of eyelids or lips or any breathing difficulty ,visit an emergency care centre urgently .

I was unwrapping cellophane wrap from a box at the time of the reaction which was immediate. I am not allergic to any of my MEDS and am not taking any new meds and have not been exposed to any other allergens. Is cellophane a commen allergen!
