What Causes Elevated Eosinophil Count In Blood?
Question: Dear Doctor, I'm having high eosinophil count in my CBC report. my RBC,TLC,WBC,Platelates count all are in Normal range,only i m having high eosinophil count of 12%. I am really tensed as high eosinophil count is related to leukamia. Please answer me a question, can i have any chances of having leukamia or any related diseases since my RBC,TLC and WBC being in normal range only i have high eosinophil count of 12%.My RBC,TLC,WBC,Platelates count are in Normal range.

Raised eosinophil count (12%) might be indicative of allergy (like some skin allergy,coughing or sneezing).
Or it may also be due to some parasitic infestations which can also lead to raised eosinophils.
But it can be rarely due to leukemia since all the other counts (RBCs,WBCs and platelets) are completely within normal range.So no need to worry about it.
Here,in case of your,it could be due to some allergy because of which you have received slightly elevated (but not very high) eosinophil count but there is no need to be worried as it is not the serious problem.

Thank you for your immediate reply. Currently i am taking medications of Hetrazen 100mg for 10days(3*10) and worms tab zental for 1day. I have started the medicines two days before on 12/4/16 and I have done my CBC on 10/4/16, After how many days do i need to do CBC again. After completing the above medications or in between. How much time it takes for eosinophils to decrease its count to normal level. Do i need to do further test if its count doesn't decrease to its normal level. Please suggest. I am also attaching my CBC report to review. Thanks

I have read your query and reviewed the CBC report you attached.
It might take around 7 days for your raised eosinophils counts to be back to normal if the underlying cause is allergy or some parasitic infestations.
So, you can go for CBC again after 7 days from the date of starting treatment which means you can check your CBC on 20th April in the same laboratory.
We would expect it to come down to normal most probably, so at present there is no need to go for any further testing.
You can continue with Hetrazen 100mg as prescribed.

Dear Doctor, I have done my CBC today and uploading it for your review. My eosinophils level came to normal range but noticed low MCH and MCV with high Red Cell Distribution width. Also monocytes are 10. Should i stop taking Hetrazen 100mg from today. Please advice if further test or medicine i need to take.what could be the cause of high Red cell distribution width with Low MCV and MCH.Please review my reports.Thanks

So,your eosinophils count has come back to normal as we expected.
Slightly low MCH,MCV and high RDW values have NO clinical significance,so there is no need to worry about it and there is no need of any tests or medicine further.
And yes,you can stop Hetrazan from today since it should have been given as a prophylactic anthelmintic drug as far as I am thinking.
But it would be better you should consult your doctor before stopping it.
