Question: I have been diagnosed with peripheral neoraphy and have been told that I have some nerve damage, some nerves are not working and some are slow to react. I have slurred speech, very slight and I lose my balance all of the time, I have fallen quite a few times. My legs get very tried easily and stay that way.

Peripheral neuropathy is caused by many causes and manifest as weakness, sensory loss or walking difficulties.

At this age following investigation are important like nerve conduction study, blood sugar, Thyroid profile, renal function test, liver function test, vitamin B 12, immunoelectrophoresis for myeloma, toxin or drug induced causes.

What investigations have already been done and there reports?

The treatment depends upon etiology.

The physiotherapy plays an important role.

The prognosis depends upon type of neuropathy, it's cause and stage at treatment initiation.
