I have imflammed papillae on tongue, and I feel like my tongue is peeling (white mucus) should i be scared? could this be something bad? after I remove the white sticky thingies the tongue remains kind of red, just with imflammed papillae. Then it appears again during the next hours...

Brief Answer:
Yes, Phentermine causes dry mouth

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Yes, Phentermine causes dry mouth (Xerostomia).

2. You have glossitis due to the dry mouth. Some of the possible causes are:
a. Dry mouth, dehydration, decreased salivary flow,
b. Inflammation (glossitis) , infection (including fungal thrush).
c. Overuse of mouthwashes, acid or bile reflux.
d. Nutritional and mineral deficiencies (including B Complex and Folic Acid),
e. Low hemoglobin (Anemia), raised blood sugars (diabetes)
f. Dental problems,
g. Food allergy or Intolerance,
h. Many rare causes which will require direct examination and tests.

3. Treatment is based on the most likely cause. Relief may be obtained by the use of Mucaine Gel, an anesthetic mouthwash and drinking more water and fluids. Try a chewing gum to promote salivary secretion. You may have to take a trial by discontinuing the Phentermine.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
