Brief Answer: Give me further details Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern. Efficacy of Emergency contraceptive pills declines as late as it is taken. I need to know, when you had sex and when she took medicines in order to see for risk and probability of getting pregnant. So, tell me following details: 1. When was her Last Menstrual Period? 2. When did you had sex (first one) and after how many hours or days did she took the medicine? 3. Similarly when did you have it second time and after how many hours or days did she took the medicine? 4. Did she had any spotting in between? This is my personal opinion based on details available here. Reply with answers of these questions preferably in point wise manner. Stay Healthy. Dr Anshul Varshney , MD

Thanks for your urgent reply, actually she has been having irregular mensturation since december 2013. We had unprotected sex on 4th and 5th of April and she took two tablets of postinor 2 at night after 3 hours of sexual intercourse. Then we had sex again on 8th and she took 2 tabs of postinor in the next morning. She saw her last month period on the 10th march 2days and 21st march for another 2 days. So she is supposed to see her period around 10th of April but not yet, so i'm wondering if she is pregnant and if its safe. Yes she has been having some red spot on her legs since early this year, the spot disappeared after she had some treatments but another two spots is in between her legs since last week.

Brief Answer: You can wait. Chances are less. Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. If she has irregular menses (menstrual period), it is difficult to comment that when she would have menses and what are the chances of getting pregnant, as we can not calculate "Safe period" in cases of irregular menses. But chances of getting pregnant are very less, as she took medications with in acceptable time. Moreover, after taking emergency contraceptive pills, menses gets irregular for few months. If you are using emergency contraception regularly, stop using that, as this can cause irregular menses and further problems in life. Since she had her last menses on 21stt march, so still there is time that she can get her periods. If she doesn't get periods even after next 15 days, then get her tested at home by simple urine pregnancy detection kit. If you have any further query, please ask me, else close the discussion and rate it. Stay Healthy.
