What Causes Delay In Menstrual Bleeding After Taking Unwanted 72?

Question: Hi,

My sister is late on her periods by 4 days. She took unwanted-72 after her mid menstrual cycle around 19th day. Could it be the reason for delay?

She feels pain in her lower back sometimes. Today we tested for pregnancy via urine using preganews and Ican Pregnancy test kits. The result showed negative (only one pink line for C).

She is not getting her periods. What could be the reason?

Emergegency contraceptives lead to irregular periods which usually regularise after 2-3months. it happens due to high dose of contraceptive hormone in the pill. No she din't bleed.She is having pain in the lower back. Usually every month after 4-5 hours of pain she gets her period. But this time she is feeling the pain since last 3 days, but still no period.

She got her periods today only. But the bleeding is lighter than usual.. I am skeptical whether this is related to ectopic pregnancy? She has taken around 5-6 Emergency contraceptives over the course of last year. This morning around 5, she had strong lower back pain. She said of having more than usual bleeding now. What does this indicate ?

Nothing to be so scared of dear.
It is common to have light and prolonged periods after emergency contraception.
This pain is seen in delayed periods (let it be due to any cause) as the lining of uterus gets thicker with each passing day of delayed period.
So when this thick lining is shed uterus contracts vigorously.
So just relax and wait for periods to stop there is nothing to worry.
