Question: Hi. I normally have a cycle around 35 days. But this time my period came after 28 days and have been with very heavy flow. My husband and I try to ger pregnant. I bled for 7 days but now after 9 days I still have some pink /brown spotting. Is this ok ? I had a laparascopy for endometriosis in april could this be a set back from my endometriosis?

Brief Answer:
Get a pregnancy test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Its normal to have periods of 28 days duration.. But since you had heavy flow lasting for more than 7 days, a chance of abortion need to be ruled out.. So get a urine pregnancy test or a b hcg blood test to know your pregnancy status..

If pregnancy test is negative no need to worry, we will just wait and see if the bleeding stops spontaneously.. If pregnancy test is positive, you need to get a scan done to see for retained products which could be cause on ongoing bleeding..

Is your husband's semen analysis report normal? The endometriosis is a ongoing process, it can recur after the laproscopy.. But it couldnot be the reason for your heavy bleeding this cycle.. Since you are already 36 yrs, i would suggest to go for an IUI for 2 cycles. If there is no success in 2 months time, it would be better to go for IVF.. The quality of your egg will be good at this age.. Also uterine environment will be good since you have undergone laproscopy..

Hope i have answered your query.. feel free to ask any doubts.. good day..
