What Causes Blurred Vision Post Cataract Surgery With Crystalens?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: I had cataract surgery on my right eye one month ago. I had cataract surgery on my right eye three weeks ago. I have "Crystalens" implants. I am having difficulty with my vision. I was examined today and was told that my eyes have "healed - nearsided". This seems odd. I am not able to drive. "They" think I should have one of the implants replaced. Or Lasek surgery. (I am a 62 year old female.) I am discouraged and concerned. I spent big bucks (thanks to my Mom's life insurance "( ) because I trusted this particular eye institute and after all, these are my eyes!! Any ideas, suggestions? Thank you, XXXXXXX
PS "They" are calling me tomorrow to tell me what the surgeon had decided which way to go. Time is of the essence.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you have undergone cataract surgery with Crystalens. Crysta lens is an accommodative intra ocular lens and it is supposed to correct for both distance and near vision.

From the history you have mentioned it seems that you are having near sightedness or myopia. This occurs because of astigmatism induced by the surgery or because of difference in the spherical refractive power.

This can be corrected and no need to be worried.
The treatment options are laser refractive surgery or correction of astigmatism.

Hence I advice you to attend follow up with your doctor and do get back to me after his advice.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
