Brief Answer: Possibly fissure if pain during defecation Detailed Answer: Dear Sir If the pain is in the anal region especially while defecation the cause of bleeding is likely to be due to anal fissure. Painless bright bleeding is likely to be due to Hemorrhoids or piles. Exact cause can be ascertained by clinical examination. I would suggest you the following which will definitely help both the cases 1. Ensure good intake of water : 2 to 3 liter of water per day. 2. High fiber diet : 2 serving of vegetable salad and one whole fruit especially citrus food. 3. Avoid constipation causing diet 4. Hot Seitz bath : Add a handful of common table salt to tub of lukewarm water. Sit in it immersing your bottom for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. 5. Local application of mixture of Hydrocortisone and Xylocaine Ointment to anal region 6.
