I have suffered from depression for 30 yrs. I am on Lithuim, wellbutrin, and zoloft
I also have severe osteoarthritis---both hands and one foot have been reconstructed through surgery and I am on oxycodone and aleve to manage the
degenerative disk disease (pain coming from pinched nerve and every other back problem.

These have started about 15 years ago---more progressive now.

Tremors started about two months ago..both sides

Postural and rest.

Sideways and front.

No stiffness.

No abnormality in eye movements

Brief Answer:
Duration of antidepressants therapy?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

Lithium and Zoloft are known to induce tremors. Can you think of a temporal relation between tremors and the antidepressants medicines you are taking?

You mentioned that you have tremors since past 2 months.Did you start these medicines same time around or much prior to the onset of tremors?

I started to increase the lithium about two months ago and because of the tremors
came off the lithium and am only taking 300mg now. However i am increasing
the zoloft to 150mg. trying to get rid of the depression. Do you think that the
medicine I'm on could cause me to fall?

Brief Answer:
Needs a neurological examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up with further details.

Drugs can cause tremors, ataxia and falls.Lithium has been reported to cause cerebellar damage, thus resulting in ataxia. However,in your case, temporal correlation, does not appear to be strong enough for, drugs to be the cause.

At this point of time,it is important for you to get a neurological examination done to detect any significant abnormality. So,I suggest that you should visit a neurologist in person.Depending on the examination, you may have to undergo a brain MRI.

Hope that helps. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
