Vaginal infection can occur even in monogamous relation as not all infection are sexually transmitted. In case of diabetes there may be fungal or candidial infection. Sometimes fecal contamination also causes these symptoms. It would be better to get a pelvic examination and a infection screening. Later you will be prescribed vaginal pessary containing clindamycin, clotrimazole, and metronidazole for the same. Ideally partner should also be treated with oral azithromycin, fluconazole and metronidazole to prevent reinfection. Please test you blood sugar for diabetes.
