What Causes Atrophic Vaginitis?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 May 2017
Question: I went to urgent care about a month ago and was diagnosed with atrophic vaginitis. I can't get to my physician until first week of May.The external itching is making it so I can't sleep and during the day I am going crazy. I have tried Vagisil wipes and cream, anti itch medicine, desiring, ice and keeping the area clean. Nothing is helping and it is so bad even though I try not to touch or scratch, I just can't help it. I do have herpes and was told it is not an outbreak.

Brief Answer:
You should try with moisturizers and lubricants

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query at healthcare Magic.

I have read your question carefully and understand your health concern.

Treatment of vaginal atrophy is based on products that moisture dry skin and mucosea such as:
Moisturizers
You may have to apply the moisturizer every two to three days. The effects of a moisturizer generally last a little longer than those of a lubricant.

Lubricants.
Choose products that don't contain glycerin because women who are sensitive to this chemical may experience burning and irritation.

And the most important treatment is estrogen cream .

But estrogen cream should be prescribed from doctor while both moisturizers and lubricants can be taken over the counter.

Hope I have been helpful and please feel free for further discussion.

Best regards
