Question: lab tests recently done, wandering whst you think if results , lipid panel total 167, hdl 78, ldl 56 and triglicerides were 166 but was told before the blood draw rhey might be a little high as I had 3 cups of coffee that morn with cream and sugar. also a random glucose test with level of 103, had same 2-3 cups of coffee that morn with a salad with XXXXXXX seed dressing for lunch. had test done about 1 hour after lunch. also cbc with differentials/ platlets theycall came un good ranges. tsh came in at 5.179. As we discussed earlier,caffeine may cause alteration of TSH level.
So,you should go for repeat TSH.Most probably you will require to take thyroxine tablet 25 microgram.
Your lipid profile is absolutely fine.There is nothing to be worried about.
Newer study reveals that there is no alteration in lipid profile results even if tests are done after food intake.
Random glucose level is also normal.
