What Causes A Persistent Leg Rash After Discontinuation Of Dapsone?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Jun 2017
Question: If I have just come off my dapsone, and am still cutting back on prednisone, would that explain why I still have a leg rash? Many blood tests show nothing serious.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care, no worries

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Recent discontinuation of dapsone with persistent leg rash are connected. Dapsone causes dermatitis, photosensitivity and exfoliative dermatitis and all these can present with a rash and despite stopping the medicine rash may take a while ot fade away. Your dermatologist has already ruled out any worries, so just wait and observe the rash, it will keep fading in a week or two.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
