Brief Answer:
Could be enlarged lymph node secondary o infection .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery for Inguinal Hernia few weeks ago and has noticed painful swelling in groin .

The painful swelling in groin could be mostly enlarged lymph node secondry to inflammation at the site of incision .

Consult your operating surgeon for evaluation .

Taking antibiotic like Augmentin along with anti inflammatory medication like Diclifenac twice daily for a week should help to resolve the problem .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Brief Answer:
If it is in a stage of liquefaction it may burst open .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
If the lump is in a stage of induration it may subside with treatment I have suggested .However if it is in a stage of liquefaction it may burst open and get drained which will give you relief from pain .

Consult your operating surgeon for further management .
Thanks and Regards.
