What Causes A Bad, Strong Odour In Urine?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: Hi, I am a very clean, hygienic person but for the last week everywhere I go, I smell cat pee. I have asked a close friend and my husband and they both said I do not smell. Would there be a problem with my nose?
My own urine is not strong smelling and does not have an ammonia smell associated with it. Thanks for any help.

Brief Answer:
Parosmia for evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

In my opinion, you are having Parosmia.

This needs clinical evaluation and treatment. Probable cause can be chronic sinus problems.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have first clinically examine you, confirm my diagnosis by an endoscopic examination. Treat you with intranasal steroids + vit c supplement with zinc.

Please consult with an ENT specialist for evaluation.

Hope my answers have helped you.

Thanks.
