What Are The Symptoms Of DVT?
Question: i recently been concerned about a dvt even though my doctor has said my legs are playing up because of my weight , but today my ribs are all achy , bit like having a stitch coming on and my mid and lower back aches , im thing if i did have dvt and doc missed this ( could this be a sign off a pe? , i also feel a little windy , but i ach like mad , thanks in advance

DVT would normally present with swelling, pain, tenderness, increased warmth and redness of the affected leg.
Some cases of DVT can result in PE formation. PE presents with severe chest pain and shortness of breath. The pain usually starts suddenly and is associated with an increase in heart rate, profuse sweating.
It would not normally be associated with back pain.
If your pain is severe and the shortness of breath also significant then it is possible that it is a PE and you need to consider visiting your doctor or ER as soon as possible to rule out PE.
Chest discomfort, mild shortness of breath and back pain can also occur with other illnesses such as viral infections (flu, cold), trauma, bacterial upper respiratory tract infections.
If your limbs were adequately examined and DVT ruled out then PE would be less likely.
