Brief Answer:
Need to reduce breast milk secretion if any

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about frequent breast lumps.

Following is my reply:

1) These appear to be lumps from blocked milk ducts.

2) These should not have recurred now as you have stopped breast feeding almost 18 months back.

3) To confirm if your prolactin levels are high leading to activation of milk secretion, I would like you to do serum prolactin level measurements to assess the if it is increased.

4) With this report I would like you to get a prescription for tablet called Cabergolin from your doctor. This medicine stops in reducing breast milk secretion if any and thereby help in decreasing breast milk secretion and lump formation.

5) Meanwhile I suggest you to get examined by your doctor to assess the the lumps are from milk ducts and nothing else like infection and pus formation of milk ducts.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
