Brief Answer:
Might cause early or late periods for next two cycles, not a concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
She has done right by taking Clr 72 which is an emergency birth control pill. It should work if taken 18 hours after unprotected sex.

These pills are meant for emergency use only. It contains a high dose of levonorgestrel which is a hormone that prevents a pregnancy. Due to the high level of hormones, she can have early or delayed periods for the next two months.

Continued use of such pills over months have been known to cause ovarian cysts and infertility in some women but if your partner has taken it only once then there is no risk to her.

Please use condoms for sex at all times when having sex with an unknown partner. This will also protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
