Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I can tell you these effects of codeine in general, but there is a difference between whether you have just taken one dosage or have been taking it for years, in which case dependency will likely develop as it is in the opioid family. In addition, the strength of the dosage makes a difference too.

The most common effect of codeine is sedation. It can make you sleepy. It can also cause nausea, light headedness, constipation (as can all opiates), and can be itch inducing. When used long term, in addition to dependency, there can be withdrawal symptoms such as sweating and agitation.

I hope this information helps.
