What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Without Ejaculation?

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Jul 2015
Question: I'm about 4 days late for my period but I only had sex about a week ago(unprotected). I think my partner pulled out but I'm usually not late at all. Can I be pregnant? If so, how do I terminate it?

Brief Answer:
Very less chances of pregnancy in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concern,

If you had unprotected intercourse about a week ago means if you had it before 2 or 3 days of your regular starting date of bleeding then it will be very unlikely to become pregnant as it was non-fertile days of your menstrual cycle.

If we consider 28 days of menstrual cycle and some one starts period from the 1st date of the month then her fertile period would be between 12 to 17 dates of that month.Means ovulation occurs exactly at the middle of the cycle and which is considered as a fertile period.

Still,I would advice you to do 'urine pregnancy testing' to confirm the pregnancy but it should be done after 18 to 20 days following unprotected intercourse to get the accurate result.

If your UPT comes positive (which seems unlikely here) then the pregnancy can be terminated with medications (MT pill) but it should be taken only after the consultation of a gynaecologist.

So,from all above discussion, you need not to bother much and just wait and watch for at least 1 week to start the menstruation.

Hope this detailed information will help you.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip

Is there anything I can do now to ensure that I'm not or do not get pregnant? Like, using anything at home or some kind of pill?

Brief Answer:
UPT is the only available home method for pregnancy detection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the follow-up,

I totally understand your concern regarding pregnancy but the only available home method for pregnancy detection is a 'urine pregnancy testing' freely available in the market which would come positive only after 18 to 20 days following unprotected sex.

However, you can go for pelvic ultrasound to diagnose the implanted embryo and which is also the surest sign to confirm the pregnancy.

But as i advised earlier, you need not to bother much about late bleeding and just wait and watch for at least 1 week to start the menstruation as here you have very less chances of getting pregnancy. In case,it comes positive it can also be managed with medications. So,be rested.

Regards,
