Brief Answer:
Wt-reducing pills have significant side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for your query.
YES. You can use weight reducing pills, BUT with great caution, because of their undesirable side effects:-
* There is a tendency of rebound increase in body weight, once these pills are stopped.
* A deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins (Vitamins A, D, E and K) and Calcium takes place while on these pills. Hence, take adequate supplements of these vitamins + Calcium.
* The side effects of these pills, particularly ORLISTAT are :-fecal urgency and
incontinence,
flatulence, fatty stools or oily discharge, increased defecation; headache, anxiety, fatigue, menstrual irregularities; abdominal pain/discomfort.
Hence, migraines may aggravate.
* As such, I have treated more than 100,000 patients of migraine in >33 years of vast experience, and therefore, consider a combination of anti-depressant drug (such as,
amitriptyline or Serteraline) + Anti-anxiety drug (such as, clonazepam or alprazolam) + gradually increasing the dose of
propranolol till tolerance limit occurs- as the MOST EFFECTIVE COMBINATION for complete cure of migraines, provided that they are taken regularly for 6-12 months.
* Lastly, the commonest causes of gross obesity are : Genetic (familial history of obesity);
HYPOTHYROIDISM and Diabetes.
* I AM STRONGLY AGAINST USE OF WEIGHT-REDUCING PILLS.
Hence, the most rational and scientific course of action would be :-
# Firstly, get your Thyroid Hormone level estimation done. If hypothyroidism is diagnosed, Thyroid
hormone replacement therapy will AUTOMATICALLY reduce your body weight.
# At the same, get your Blood sugar estimation (empty stomach in the morning and then, exactly 2 hours after breakfast) done. Overweight people are at a high risk of developing diabetes. Anti-diabetic treatment will automatically reduce your weight.
# If the above-mentioned three conditions are excluded, the BEST and the SAFEST way of reducing body weight is adherence to the GOLDEN PRINCIPLE :-
" EAT LESS CALORIES (LOW CALORIE-1000 CALORIES; LOW FAT; HIGH PROTEIN DIET) AND, BURN MORE (THROUGH PHYSICAL EXERCISES, such as, gymming, aerobic exercises, cycling, jogging, brisk walks).
I have given you a SINCERE and thoroughly PROFESSIONALLY SOUND advice. However, the final decision is SOLELY yours!!
Take care
