Question: Dear doctor

I am severerly vit d deficient 12 and today I bought a tablet named cipcal vitamin d3 tablet and I also had hypothyroidism but now under control since am taking thyronorm 50..my tsh s 2.6now..

I am trying to conceive and I got pregnant in XXXXXXX 2016 but miscarriage happened at 6weeks due to blighted ovum then only realised my thyroid problem and vitamin d problem during blood test..will this be a reason for my miscarriage???

My thyroid is ok now can I try now to conceive or I need to bring my vitamin d to normal??vit d deficiency is not allowing me to ovulate I believe because after trying 1 year I became pregnant and I believe that cycle I had one vit d tablet,it was my doctor prescribed but I forgot the name since I shifted my home and I missed the tablet name too..can I take this cipcal 500 for my vitamin d and what s the dosage??

Can U suggest some good vitamin d tablet to ovulate

Brief Answer:
adequate level of vit D is required for healthy pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
I feel bad about your previous miscarriage.
Vitamin D level is very important for a healthy pregnancy, in your case as mentioned by you is low, which may be a cause of miscarriage.
Vitamin D supplements by themselves do not cause ovulation but normal level of vit D is essential for healthy pregnancy. Calcium alone will not be helpful.

You may need to be supplemented by taking sachets of vitamin D 60000 units once a week for at least 8 weeks. Along with that she needs calcium supplements of 1000 mg a day. You can visit and enquire with your consultanting OBG specialist.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.

Take care.
