Suggest Treatment To Remove Gallbladder Stone

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Dec 2014
Question: I have one stone in my Gall Bladder, by sonogram. My doctor wants me to see a surgeon to have the gall bladder removed. I am 79 yrs. old. After researching my symptoms I thought what was bothering me was H. Pyloric. Another doctor prescribed amoxicillin,, and two other drugs. They seem to be working after a week...but I am still facing the decision of having my gall bladder removed.
I am sort of thinking that if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Considerations.

Detailed Answer:
hello and thanks for sending the question.

I think it would be reasonable to wait a little more time to see if the antibiotic regimen helps to resolve your symptoms.

We do have medications that help to improve gallbladder function and movement of bio but these medications really did not successfully dissolve gallstones very well.I don't think medication would be an option to change the status of the gallstones.

If otherwise you are not having any signs of infection or obstruction of the bio flow which would cause abnormalities of liver function tests and it might be reasonable to seek a second opinion.

Since it seems like you might favorite second opinion I would recommend that you contact another surgeon for a good focused consultation and physical examination with review of your medical records.

Thanks again for sending your question. Please let us know if you have additional concerns in the future.
