Suggest Treatment To Reduce Ascites When Diagnosed With Pancreas Cancer
Question: 61 year old male with stage 4 pancreas cancer. How can I reduce the ascites build up, about 2 days after paracentesis I am able to eat better and build up my strength. problem is it in about 3 days later the fullness starts over again. I was responding to chemo. My health has always been excellent.

Hi and welcome. I am sorry about such serious disease but I am glad you are coping good with this. Ascites is in such diseases caused by tumor itself and may be resistant to any therapy,however the best option would be to place a permanent intraperitoneal drain my laparoscopy or percutaneosly. other possible benefits may be diuretic therapy,low salt diet and high protein diet.
