Hello
Thanks for choosing wwwhealthcaremagic
Yes, I agree that anxiety increases stammering , as is present in your case. I my experience, I dealt with many cases and the following strategy has given good result-
1- First, I have used SSRI medicines like Sertraline 50-100 mg to help control anxiety
2- it happens so often that in such a case, you can't remain relaxed while talking, but constantly fear that you may start stammering again, and it happens immediately. so it is important to focus on the task in hand, the person you are talking, not on the issue of stammering.
3- if by chance you start stammering, speak very slow, word by word . trying to speak fast increases chances of stammering.
4- some degree of stammering is normal . It happens with me as well but I just take care of the word, and speak slowly, it is really helpful.
5- yoga like Lom Vilom, bhastrika are helpful to help you relax and focus.
Managing anxiety is the key. Do not keep on telling others that you stammer. even if you do, don't worry, there are celebrities who used to stammer, they conquered it so you can also do it.
