Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Clonazepam

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Oct 2016
Question: Hi, I accidentally forgot my clonaxapam and went into rapid withdrawal for 8 days, I've been on 2 mg for several years. I became very sick and now an trying to get over the withdrawal symptoms; inability to sleep due to continued body movement, profuse sweating after the smallest activity of daily living, dehydration, severe weakness of my limbs, etc. I took my first recovery dose yesterday, taking 1/2 dose in the am and pm. I'm very weak. I should say I'm a 69 year old woman. What can I do to hasten my readjustment and rebuild my strength and ability to eat?
My symptoms continued last night and this morning after the two half doses. Since my dose was two mg, how should I proceed to that dose?

I enter profuse sweating, agitation and erratic sleep on one mg.at the smallest activity.

Brief Answer:
Taking one mg of clonazepam will be enough at this stage

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Since you have passed almost 8 days without clonazepam you need almost half of the original dose to mitigate withdrawal symptoms. In other terms one mg of clonazepam will be enough to control your anxiety symptoms at this stage, in particular due to clonazepam withdrawal.

The weakness need to be addressed by proper stress management, eating healthy and some form of light exercise if possible. Having energy drinks can help you for a short term till your body responds appropriately to this post crisis state.

Since you were taking it for night seizures there is no question of using lower dose than the original dose and you should restore to original dose of eight days back. There is no need to go slowly and you can start from two mg itself as in past.

With this you will get control over seizures as well as withdrawal symptoms.

I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
