Brief Answer:
UTI treatment initiated; possible PTSD or depression causing weight loss

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. First of all, I am really sorry to hear about the assault you faced, and hope the individual responsible for such behaviour has been taken to task by the required authorities.

The infection you mentioned, did your doctor tell you what kind of infection it was? May be a urinary tract infection, or something to do with your kidneys? If this is the case then the fowl-smelling urine, pain in flank region (kidney), chills, etc; can all be related to it.

The reason why you feel tired is because you are losing a lot of electrolytes through your urine, and more importantly a lot of fluids as well. As norfloxacin has already been prescribed (usually prescribed for cystitis), the only other instructions you will be needing are the following:

+Drink at least 3 litres of water a day
+Either purchase ORS (oral rehydration solution) in liquid or powder form from any medical store (available over-the-counter) and have it to help replenish the lost electrolytes; or you could also purchase energy drinks (e.g. Gatorade) which can also provide you with some important electrolytes
+Try to rest as much as possible
+Make sure you maintain good personal hygiene

Now coming to the weight loss, it could be because of the trauma you have been experiencing since the assault, or depression and so I would also like to refer you to visit a therapist to help you recover from the unfortunate event you had to face.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Weight loss is our priority right now, and I would recommend evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

I am sorry, forum rules imply that I cannot call you once a query has been generated, please do forgive me for that.

So it is a kidney infection, almost the same, instructions still stand ma'am. :)

So your weight loss has been ongoing for many months now, now that is something that should be well investigated. At your age, weight loss (almost 10 kgs) over a duration of a few months can be due to various causes and I would like to list them for your reference:

+Conditions of the bowel: Which can present with diarrhoea, constipation, etc.
+Lowered or loss of appetite
+Thyroid abnormalities
+Diabetes
+Peptic ulcer disease
+Cardiac abnormalities
+Side effect of medications
+Hypercalcemia
+Depression, anxiety, stress, etc.
+Parkinson's disease
+Lung related conditions: but will present with symptoms like cough, breathing irregularities, etc.
+Cancer

As you can see ma'am, the list is rather long and complex and will require an elaborate evaluation including a physical examination, blood panels, and imaging studies. Drastic unexplained weight loss such as yours should be taken seriously and evaluated at the earliest ma'am, which is why I would like to urge you to visit your doctor for a more elaborate evaluation.

Please in the meantime, do not hesitate to write to me about anything, I would be more than happy to help you as it is what I am here for.

Best wishes.
