Suggest Treatment For Viral Illness And High Fever

Question: Hello,
My 9 month old daughter suddenly got fever on Feb 24th evening @ 101.2 degree F. We gave her Calpol and took her to a doctor. The doctor said she has throat infection (swollen tonsils) and told us to keep giving Crocin DS 3.5 ML every 6 hours and wait for 2 days. She did not sleep at all that night and kept crying non-stop. She wanted to be held in our lap all the time.
Next day, the fever was still there and she was having semi loose motions (3 -4 times a day). She even vomited once. So, we took her to another doctor who said that she is having fever from stomach related issue. He prescribed her Crocin DS and antibiotic Taxim O for 3 days. We did give her that and the fever subsided.
However, her appetitite still seems to have lost. She is not ready to eat any of her meals like fruits or upma or rice dal khichdi. She is still breasfed.

Can you please let us know your opinion?

Also, if you can let me know some healthy food options which I can try, it will be very helpful. Can I start adding some basic spices to her food and cook it? I just boil rice dal and veggies for her khichdi right now. Can I actually add some ghee and spices like turmeric and jeera?

Also, if you can suggest which fruits can be safely given to her at bedtime if she is not eating her rice.

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
here are the details.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
I would like to tell you that sometimes viral illness may take 5 to 7 days to settle down.
But as the there is no fever now this loss of apettite is due post fever weakness and loss of taste due to antibiotics which may last for 3 to 4 days.
I suggest you to give syrup like polybion-L which will increase the appettite and the syrup also tastes great.
You should continue with your routine diet.
You can also add ghee and little bit of spices as per baby's liking.
Fruits you should give at this stage are smashed banana, apple puree, and chikoo.
Nothing to worry continue breastfeed and the rest of the things will settle in 3 to 5 days.
Hope i helped you.
