Brief Answer:
She might need some blood work up and blood cultures

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what your mother had to go through. Based on the history you have shared, it is very non specific and exact cause of illness is still not known. Vomitings can either be due to drugs or due to infection in gastric tract or due to systemic or generalised malaise due to infection else where so it is also a non specific sign. she might need Chae of antibiotics and also to get some blood work up. To start with complete blood picture, liver function tests, amylase and urinalysis atleast for case work up. Also sending blood cultures may help to isolate the bug causing the trouble and antibiotics choice be made on the basis of that. A prohylactic antibiotic cover may be added and it might be a quinolone antibiotic or a macrolide. Also using OTC anti pyretics like acetaminophen during acute attacks and using domperidone for vomiting and taking good oral fluids intake nay help. Wishing her a quick recovery. Hope this has answered your query, If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
