Suggest Treatment For Vestibular Cranial Schwannoma Tumor
Question: I had a vestibular cranial schwannoma tumor (between 7th-8th nerve) successfully radiated 2012. My MRI of 11/05 must show something new as my nuero-surgeon wants to meet in office 12/02 (as opposed to a telephone appointment--their office is a 2-hour drive.) I do not want cranial surgery or chemo. I am 67 years old, white and female. I'm seriously thinking about enjoying my last good ten years. Think I have a shot at my goal? Vestibular Schwannoma also known as acoustic neuroma, are intracranial extra axial schwann cell tumors investing vestibular nerve in your case.
Why just live for 10 year with misery when you can enjoy much more ith fully cured schwannoma . improved imaging techniques permitting early diagnosis, adaptation of the microscope to the operating theater, development of facial and auditory nerve monitoring techniques, improved anesthesia, and improved perioperative management have all contributed to improved outcomes and only 1 % mortality rate. This rate is a very successful procedure and should not be avoided.
You are worried and i can understand, but operative procedures are very accurate and very curative, you will be very fine and very thank ful to me and your surgen who will get it out for you.
Radiations and conservative approaches have failed and it has recurred, so i suggest surgical excision is the only valid option here, an option with very promising results. You should go for it.
