Suggest Treatment For Vascular Headaches

Question: I have been getting headaches. First noticed it during sex 1 week ago. When I was about to orgasm, the headache got very bad. and eased up (but didn't go away) within a minute. Was at it's worst during orgasm. The exact same thing happened the next day. I saw a doctor who did some tests and thought it was probably ''Orgasmic Headache'......the tests he did seemed ok. I haven't had sex in a week now but the headaches still come and go. For no apparent reason. Sometimes with no activity. Im extremely worried it could be something worse.

Brief Answer:
Most likely a vascular headaches.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your details and the most likely cause of your headaches could be vascular headaches, similar to migraines. These are known to get aggravated with sex, exercise and orgasms.

However, in view of new onset of symptoms, we should also exclude other causes by doing a brain scan, such as MRI with MR angiogram brain to exclude aneurysms (abnormal dilatation of blood vessels in the brain).

Ibuprofen may be taken prior to sex, and sex can be safely done.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
