Suggest Treatment For Uncontrollable Blood Glucose Readings
Question: I have Diabetes 2 which started to get readings off the sheet mid-August. I went on Insulin 18/09/14
.starting at 6 and to-day I am on 46.. There must be a biological problem, why am I not getting my
readings down to under 8 in mornings. I am on a very good diet as I live alone there is no pressureon what food I get so no one is put out with type of meals etc. I am 76 and diagnosed 2008 (70)I am retired
and very peaceful, content and happy no pressures. The only time I think diabetes is when I want to
do a reading after meals (2hrs) My Blood test last week was 66,I have forgotten what it was called.
Any suggestons;there are so many cures now appearing on Internet, which one is it?
Best wishes XXXXXXX XXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Diabetes
Detailed Answer:
The test you had last week with a reading of 66, could that be Glycohemoglobin or HbA1c or A1c or Glycated hemoglobin with a value of 6.6%?
If so, it is a pretty good result suggesting good diabetes control provided you are not experiencing frequent low glucose reactions.
Regarding you question as to why you are unable to bring your fasting morning readings under 8, I suggest you speak with your endocrinologist to see if you are a candidate for a medication called Metformin. It is an insulin sensitizer, meaning it allows insulin to work more effectively.
There are a host of other medications available too, but this one specifically will improve your morning fasting glucose readings.
