It is also much higher than the left side of my clavicle. Also the lft side of my claicle is considerably lower and vry small by comparrison. Can you tell me what it might be. It seems to be a tumor, though of course Im not sure what it is.

Brief Answer:
it can be a bony tumour

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I am an orthopaedic specialist and I have expert in this type of problems so rest assure that you are consulting with right doctor. From your history it is a benign tumour and it can be confirmed with the help of x ray. As t is very slow growing so I can assure you that it is not a harmful tumour. It needs to be removed only if you are having any symptoms like pain or difficulty in swallowing. Otherwise just observation is needed. I would request you to send me x rays of the neck so that I can offer you further advise.
thanks

Thank you for your helpful advice Doctor.
I have never had any xrays on my clavicle. Please can you currently advice me further on this subject on three of questions:

1) is there a more non invasive method other than an X ray which will be able to detect the nature of lump. I dont like XRays.

2) My clavicle has only recently started to feel a bit sore like a very slight burning sensation. Do you know why?

3)Furthermore my arms and shoulders have been painful for a couple of years now such as when moving them about. Though the pain fluctuates from day to day and sometimes there is no pain at all like today.

Brief Answer:
x ray or ultrasound are good test

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
1.You can do ultrasound if you do not want x rays.
2.It is due to pressure created by growing lump on near by tissue. So there is pain now.
3.Generalised pain at your age is due to post menopausal osteoporosis. You need to check your Dexa scan to see whether you need treatment for osteoporosis.
thanks
