Question: I am 33 yr old male . 3 months back I visited a neurologist for tremor in hand ( during writing only) and used to feel extremely tired , had put on weight , had sensitivity to cold. TSH result gave 7.22 . I was diagnosed with 1. hypothyroid and 2. writers cramp .
I am taking thyronorm that is working fine ..
but for tremor I was given 1. Lonazep .25mg twice 2. Benfomet plus once 3. Tivastal LA 1/2 at night.

I had consulted in this website earlier and the doctor had prescribed Neorokind plus (one capsule daily) .
From past two months I am taking thyronorm 12.5 mcg ( morning) and neurokind plus (One capsule at night)
( I am not taking Lonazep and Trivastal now) .. please advice for writers cramp problem

Brief Answer:
Managing writers cramp

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking Health care magic forum.

I have gone through your query. Writers cramp is a type of focal hand dystonia. Pharmacological treatment alone is not enough for the treatment of it. Lonazep can be continued till one month. Physiotherapy should be started along with it and continued at least 3 month to get any benefit.

Physiotherapy is usually designed as a re learning process. The first step is to perform exercises to improve XXXXXXX and precision of fingers and wrist movements. Then, the muscles involved in the correction of dystonic postures are trained by drawing loops, curves and arabesques. The aim of rehabilitation is not to enable you with writer's cramp to write as you used to, but to help your dysgraphia evolve towards a fast, fluid and effortless handwriting. A reshaping of the sensory cortical hand representation appears to be associated with clinical improvement in you with dystonia after rehabilitation.

In some cases botulinum injections also tried along with physiotherapy. Continue your thyronorm with regular follow up also.Hope this may help you.

Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Sir , during the initial course of the treatment for ten days , when I was taking lonazep , my condition had improved significantly , I was able to write almost normally as I used to do . but after stopping lonazep , the condition had worsened. I was feeling more nervous and irritated and was unable to write , that is the reason I stopped taking lonazep.
I had also undergone nerve conduction study and the result was normal.

Sir for how long I can continue with neurokind plus . at what interval I should go for thyroid , B12 level checks etc ?

What kind and where I can go for physiotherapy in XXXXXXX ?
