Question: yes, I hit the side of my head a few hours ago. I was closing my car door and the upper part of the door hit my ear and a small part of my scalp. There was rubber coating on the door, and my ear stinged a bit. About 3 inches of force was used. My ear feels a little tight, but should I worry

Brief Answer:
No reason to worry.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern. Thank you also for providing a detailed description.

Judging by your description I don't think you have got much to worry about, that type of hit shouldn't cause any brain damage.

Some symptoms to watch about during the first 24 hours are intense or progressively increasing headache, confusion and changes in behavior, weakness or numbness of the limbs on one side, double vision or other vision changes, speech issues, seizures.

However, while I am listing these symptoms in order for my answer to be as complete as possible, I am pretty positive you won't manifest any of them and will be fine (apart for some potential bruise, bump or local swelling due to superficial soft tissue damage, but not related to any brain damage and will heal gradually).

I hope to have been of help.
