Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection, Extreme Fatigue, Dizziness And Ear Congestion

Question: Hello
I am 4 weeks now having problems. It all started with a throat infection and then extreme fatigue and an ever lasting ear problem that stiffs my neck and makes me feel very tired. Saw several doctors and they all told me it wS viral. I did blood work twice for all known viruses and it was ok, nothing wrong.
Im so tired and my ears feel full and I get swallen glangs near the ear.

Im not sure what else to do...

Any idea?

I also get dizzy spells and feel unbalanced.

Hello

From your symptoms it looks like that you are having having an ear problem. More specifically a middle and inner ear problem

There may be accumulation of fluid along with swelling of tissues of the inner ear in you. Please don't worry as this is common following upper respiratory tract infection and usually subsides in 2 to 3 weeks and needs no treatment.

However in some people these may be prolonged and we may need to give some medications for it.

In my patients I would normally ask for an early test called impedance audio grams, which will give me an idea about the middle ear status

I would normally start a short course of steroids and levocetrizine for 7 to 14 days along with steam inhalation thrice a day. I would also start tablet betahistamine 8 mg twice a day for the giddiness.

please meet your ent doctor and get you ears checked. The doctor will examine your ears and guide you further

Hello

The dizziness and the general feeling of being unwell can cause fatigue and lack of interest in day to day activities.

Another RARE possibility may be low hemoglobin leading to anemia. In many viral infections the bone marrow production of cells is affected and can be reduced, this effect is generally temporary and most patients recover within 4-6 weeks.

Hi sir
I went to the doctor and he saw with a microscope that my ears were fine. Ghen as I still wasnt convinced i went to a GP and told bim my dizziness and fatigue problem and she finally found out I have a deep sinus problem. I am taking steroids and antibiotics now.

Hello

Dizziness is not caused by sinus and may be due to anemia. Anemia can also cause the fatigue

Normally in my patients I would ask for two tests
The first one is an audio grams which will tell me the status of the ear and second one would be a ct scan of the nose and sinuses to look for extent of sinusitis
