Brief Answer:
Seems to be inflammation of tendon sheaths .

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

It looks to me that you are having inflammation of tendon sheaths most probably of thumb. It is also called as Dequervain's teno synovitis. In this disease there is swelling and pain on movements specially which you have described.
Other possibilities of pain are wrist synovitis and carpel tunnel. For confirmation you need to see an orthopaedic doctor. He can examine you and confirm it.

Treatment is analgesics, splinting and steroid injection at tendon sheath.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.

Take care
