Is this eating disorder tell you something? If she does not eat, she will starve to death. What malady is this called and what can we do about it. To-night she had a fever of 99.5. Remember this lady is chair-ridd en and can walk only a few steps before she is breathless. Will not and sez cannot go to a doctors office

Brief Answer:
how long has she been rejecting solid food?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

it may mean something or it may not! I'll explain. Being able to swallow liquids means that her swallowing apparatus is intact and functional. Inability to swallow solid food may mean esophageal obstruction but if she can eat chicken wings (which is solid obviously) then it's either a partial obstruction or no obstruction at all.

Why does she avoid solid food? Does she feel pain when swallowing? If the answer is yer then it may be caused by esophagitis or esophageal motility disorders. What about her teeth? Is she able to chew the food properly? And how long has she been avoiding solid food? Did anything happened before she started this behavior?

Her fever suggests infection, although I couldn't guess what kind. The best thing for her is to be examined by a doctor in search for the site of the infection (so she could receive appropriate treatment). Perhaps a doctor can visit her at home?

If she can eat liquid food, you can use a kitchen blender to include more nutritious food in the soup. She won't starve if she can consume enough water and soups. She needs medical help though, to identify the cause of her symptoms.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
