Brief Answer:
hormonal assays are needed to be done

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.

I have read your query and can understand your concerns.

Symptoms of bipolar disorder and those due to hormonal imbalance are very overlapping and are sometimes very difficult to diiferentiate clinically.

The possible way is go for hormonal assays. This will determine the hormonal levels. It is specifically the estrogen levels which needs to be measured carefully.

If you doctor finds a hormonal imbalance, he or she may suggest hormonal replacement therapy as the treatment rather than psychotropic drugs.

However it takes time to find the right combination and doses of medications.

Hope this helps.
Any further queries are welcome.

Take care.
Thanks.
