Question: my daughter cam home from camp with puss in eye. I accidntally put dog eat mite drops in eye. Flushed with water and took to urgent care. They gave her Vigamox 1 drop 3x per day. I put 2 in last night to kick start and she woke up this morning with her eye swollen and stuck shut. Should she go back to the doctor?

Brief Answer:
This should respond to vigamox.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

It seems from the history that your daughter is having pus discharge from the eyes associated with stickiness and swollen eyelids.
Since she has come from a camp this indicates acute conjunctivitis probably acquired in camp.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops. Vigamox is a antibiotic and it can be used for treatment of acute conjunctivitis.
Since the infection seems to be severe she needs to use the eye drops more frequently like up to 10 times per day.
Along with this analgesic tablets will provide relief from symptoms.

Use of dog ear mite drops can only cause irritation of the eyes. Since she has washed her eyes you need not worry about it.
The swollen eyelids and stickiness are because of infection of eyes only and not because of use of ear mite drops.

This condition will respond to treatment by antibiotics like vigamox.

If the swelling and discharge from the eye increase you need to consult your eye doctor to change the antibiotic eye drop.

Hope the information is helpful to you.
