Question: I have a small knot on my labia. I noticed this knot maybe two days ago. It does not itch or hurt but I am worried of what it could be.

Brief Answer:
You most likely have a small sebaceous cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

It can be really difficult to diagnose a skin condition without actually being able to see the "knot" you describe, but because it doesn't hurt or itch, that is a good sign that it is not something infectious.

If what you feel is a rubbery lump under the skin, that you can move around between your fingers, it is most likely a blocked pore or mucus gland, called a sebacous cyst. They ab pop up on anyone and generally will go away by themselves if you just soak the area in hot water or use hot compresses twice a day for a few days.

There are other causes of bumps on the labia- like moles and warts, but they sick out from the skin surface and feel like a bump on top of the skin.

So in order to make a more accurate diagnosis you would need to send me a picture or tell me some more specific information like how big the bump is, what color it is and the shape. However I think what you are describing is under the skin, and if this is correct, it is most likely a sebaceous cyst and it will go away.

I hope I was able to answer your question today and that my advice was helpful. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

It is a little bit smaller than a pea. It is more oval than circular i think. There is no distinct color to it. It is deffinatly underneath the skin Photos dont do it any justice. .

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

With the additonal information you have provided for me, I am confident that you have a sebaceous cyst, which is a sweat or mucus gland that has gotten blocked (like a blocked pore in a pimple) and is completely harmless. It will likely go away by itself if you take hot baths or apply a hot compress twice a day. If it doesn't hurt, you do not have to treat it at all.

If it bothers you, a GYN doctor could also remove it for you. I would recommend you try to steam it for a week and if it doesn't go away and bothers you a doctor could remove it at that time.

I hope this additional information was helpful. Please let me know if you need anything else, otherwise thank you for using my services and healthcare magic.com
