Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Fluticasone Propionate

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Mar 2017
Question: If I'm having bad side effects from Fluticasone Proprionate i.e. nose bleeding, sore throat, sinus pain, should I stop taking the medication immediately? I've been including it in a solution along with a saline nasal wash which I do two times a day.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Stop the treatment and consult your treating doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM.

I am trying to give you some more information.

Fluticasone Proprionate inhaler belongs to corticosteroids class. Many patients using this medication do not have serious side effects
Because it is a local medication, will be absorbed a little into the bloodstream.
But in patients who use this medication for a long time and in high doses the side effects might happen and these might be: sore throat, sinus pain, headache etc.
If you think that these complains are serious for you than stop the medication and consult your treatment doctor for further advises.
If you will feel breathlessness you can use Ventolin inhaler instead unless you see the doctor.
Best regards

Will there be withdrawal symptoms and what will they be? How long does it take for sore throat and sinus pain to go away?

Brief Answer:
I do not think will be withdrawal symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

No i do not think will be withdrawal symptoms.
Inhaler corticosteroids are drugs with local action and they are absorbed less in the blood.
There will not be any signs and symptoms of their immediately stop believe me.
We usually them in safety in pregnant women too.
Sore throat and sinus pain would go in a short period if there is not any other reason that cause them (viral situation probably).

You don*t have to worry so much
