Suggest Treatment For Severe Rashes On The Skin
Question: Hi,
I have got these rashes on my skin, first they were only on the palms and feet, now they are on my torso legs and arms. They are itchy until i take Cetirizine. Last week they were almost gone and i stopped taking the med for two days and the rashes came back.
I am not allergic to any thing as far as i know

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). These are hives or urticaria.
Acute urticaria can commonly happen in response to an infection (e.g any bacterial, viral or fungal infection), drug intake (e.g antibiotics, pain killers, vitamin supplements and ayurvedic or homeopathic medicines), various foods and food preservatives.
I would suggest you to take tab. fexofenadine (Allegra 120 mg) in the morning and tab. levocetrizine (teczine 5mg) in the evening for a period of 10 days.
You may also apply calamine lotion to sooth the rashes.
A few basic tests like complete hemogram aling with absolute eosinophil count, urine routine, chest X ray, stool for ova/ cyst would be indicative of any of the above causes
